Balancing Human Intuition and AI Assistance in Modern Problem-Solving

 


        

 

        This study investigates the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence (AI) in decision-making, creativity, and problem-solving, focusing on the potential impacts of over-dependence on cognitive processes. AI has transformed various fields by streamlining complex tasks, providing rapid data analysis, and generating insights previously inaccessible in real time. Yet, as people integrate AI into daily tasks, the risk of over-reliance raises concerns about diminishing human intuition and creative independence.

 

    Through in-depth interviews, the research identifies diverse perspectives on AI's role. Some participants highlight AI’s strengths in organizing information and aiding in decision-making, noting that AI tools have accelerated productivity and introduced new problem-solving techniques. Others express caution, noting that over-reliance on AI could hinder personal growth in critical thinking and creativity. The study proposes the concept of "AI-Augmented Minds" versus "AI-Minds" — highlighting the difference between using AI as a tool to enhance human capabilities and a scenario where AI dictates choices, potentially limiting cognitive diversity.

 

    Ultimately, the study advocates for a balanced approach to AI integration, encouraging users to leverage AI's strengths without compromising individual judgment. Emphasizing responsible AI utilization, the research promotes an ethical framework where AI complements human expertise, ensuring AI remains a supportive tool rather than a substitute for human insight.
