This study discusses the need for innovative, game-based training in military education to enhance leadership qualities among cadets. As modern technology reshapes education, traditional teaching methods often fall short in engaging students effectively. Recognizing this, the Department of Combat Use of Communication Units advocates for developing a computerized training complex designed around leadership-oriented game mechanics.
The goal is to transform cadet training into an immersive experience that fosters problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills. This complex integrates simulation tools and professional-business games, simulating real-life scenarios like communication setups, team coordination, and combat communication operations. By working through these simulations, cadets build leadership skills critical to their future roles as military officers.
A key aspect of this model is the use of gamification, which enhances motivation by making learning more engaging. Cadets face various military tasks within a controlled, interactive environment, which helps them gain practical experience in tactical decision-making. For example, simulated communication drills or virtual shooting ranges provide cadets with realistic experiences without the risks associated with live training.
Implementing a game-based training approach prepares cadets for complex, unpredictable scenarios they may face in actual combat settings. This study shows how the combination of traditional instruction with advanced gaming tools can cultivate skilled, adaptable leaders capable of addressing the demands of modern military operations.
